Before even looking at weight loss as a goal, one should start understanding the maintenance part. Weight loss is not a sprint to just push your limits for a while and stop. It's like a marathon , goes on for a very long time. Until you feel comfortable in what you do you will have to hold on to the new habits. What do I mean by getting comfortable here? If you feel happy and content in eating that healthy choice of food just the way you find happiness in eating your favourite not healthy choice.
Trust me, you will find happiness in eating clean and eating right too. Healthy eating need not always tasteless and raw food( of course that raw salad tastes amazing if you develop taste towards it). All it takes is zooming out and considering the larger picture of "HEALTH".
Let us take a look at few common mistakes people make while looking at weight loss as an issue.
1. Weight loss is just seen at the superficial level, just the appearance and not the internal changes
2. Need to lose weight is trigged suddenly and one expects the change to happen immediately.
3. Not considering the past history- how long did I take to gain weight, why did I gain weight etc and just jumping to decisions on fast results.
4. Falling prey for fad diets simply because they provide fascinating results in no time.
And the list continues..
Why is it so difficult to accept that the body what you see is not as simple as eat less and lose weight. Its a very complicated system. What we see is like the tip of an iceberg. The whole truth lies inside and within.
The more we run behind quick weight loss, the more it disappoints us sooner or later.
Thats why it's important to change the perspective. Once you feel that you need to change the body externally, you must first start making changes in the way you perceive things. Do not look at food as an enemy nor get into to guilt pleasures. Handling our mind and body's connection in a much matured manner is what takes us to our health goals.
We shall talk about it in detail soon :)
Cheers !
